Paintings of her student’s hang at the Hanford Community Hospital. An accomplishment she is proud of knowing that she touched children’s lives with art. Her work is inspired by nature, insects, flowers and animals in her art work. Hilda works in a variety of art mediums. In watercolor paintings she uses bold colors and loose washes. She incorporates eastern and western art techniques into her mixed media art. She uses specialty papers. Some have visible fiber textures, gold speckles or silver treads woven into the paper. Hilda uses Suminagashi. The technique of floating inks and colors on water and transferring them to paper produce a unique marbling effect. She also enjoys using acrylics.
