David M Scott
"As far back as I remember, I was using something to draw with."..sometimes a pencil, sometimes a stick, but always giving expression to his vision of the world. He credits his interest in nature, color and composition, with his continued desire for artistic expression. Growing up he received encouraging words from his foster parents for any of his creative endeavors. His studies took him into the world of mechanical drawing and commercial illustration. During his 10 years in the Navy, David drew portraits of girlfriends and families for lonely shipmates. Since retiring, David has evolved as a full time artist. Not satisfied with traditional media, he has been exploring the ancient use of nature in the form of minerals and gemstones. "I like to think of it as the earth's natural paint-pot," - David Scott, Artist.
